Ben is one of Todd Walker’s Senior Associates in the environment law, resource management and civil litigation team.  

Ben has appeared and presented in hearings on resource consent applications and District Plan submissions before the Queenstown Lakes District Council, appeals before the Environment Court, appeals to the High Court and Judicial review proceedings before the High Court and Court of Appeal.

Ben has also assisted on several large, high-profile developments within the Queenstown Lakes District. Ben provides advice to clients on resource management, planning matters and appeals. Ben has defended prosecutions under the Resource Management Act and on several High Court judicial review applications.

Ben also provides advice on dispute resolution matters, including debt recovery, breaches of contract, and building disputes, and assists Michael Walker with civil litigation matters. Ben has appeared in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal in civil proceedings. 

Born and raised in Auckland, Ben moved to the South Island to study law at the University of Otago. Ben has been part of Todd Walker since he was admitted to the Bar and has developed a varied skillset and expert knowledge in the resource management, environmental law and civil litigation/dispute resolution fields. 

Ben has many strong ties with the regional community and, in his spare time, enjoys classic Central Otago pastimes such as golf and skiing.
